FLYING START SCHOLARSHIPS - GATEWAY - 2012 - Now Closed
- Aviation Flying Start - 1 award
- Visitor Sector Flying Start (Tourism, Travel, Museums) - 1 award
The scholarships mean winners can enrol in their next level of qualification and have all study-related costs up to the value of $1,000 covered..
Who can apply? Any secondary school student who is currently taking part in a Tourism, Travel, Service Sector or Aviation Gateway programme.
Conditions: Winners must enrol in a qualification through their workplace or through a tertiary provider within 12 months of finishing school.
Applicants must submit:
- A completed application form
- Provide evidence of commitment to future career direction. This may be any evidence of a creative project, reference and/or evidence of outstanding achievement in the field.
- Answer the question: “If I had $1,000 to spend on professional development how would I spend it and how would this benefit my career?”
- A recommendation letter from a current teacher/tutor
- A letter of support from their current Gateway employer
- A photograph of themselves
- Evidence of credits achieved as part of the Gateway course, from a Gateway coordinator or current teacher
- Ideal: Additional related evidence attached (optional)

The scholarships mean winners can enrol in their next level of ATTTO qualification and have all study-related costs up to the value of $1,000 covered by ATTTO.
Who can apply? Any secondary school or tertiary institute student who studies aviation, tourism, travel or museums.
Conditions: Winners must enrol in a qualification in a workplace or through their tertiary provider within 12 months of winning the scholarship.
Applicants must submit:
- A completed application form
- Evidence of commitment to future career direction. This may be any evidence of a creative project, reference and/or evidence of outstanding achievement in the field
- Answer the question: “If I had $1,000 to spend on professional development how would I spend it and how would this benefit my career?”
- A recommendation letter from a current teacher/tutor

- Details of previous work/volunteer experience and study
- Museums Next Step applicants only: Details of subjects studied that have a clear linkage to the Museums industry.
