Part of ATTTO’s role is to provide strategic leadership in training and workforce development for the industries that we represent. We work closely with a number of industry partners to deliver special projects that deliver vital leadership and add value.
Career Mapping and NZSkillsConnect
The hospitality, travel, tourism and aviation industries offer a wide variety of job choices and career pathways. The Career Maps and Pathways project was carried out in partnership with the Hospitality Standards Institute. It aimed to assist these industries in attracting and retaining skilled people by researching the range of training opportunities available in these sectors, linking these to job roles and then providing a visual map of the career pathways and training options on offer. Targeted Review of Qualifications
ATTTO is currently working with industry, employers and tertiary training providers to review the vocational qualifications available for our sectors. These reviews are part of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority’s (NZQA’s) Targeted Review of Qualifications. The review was initiated in response to concerns raised about the clarity and relevance of the wide range of regional and national qualifications on offer in New Zealand. Read more
KiaOraMai
KiaOraMai is a training programme designed for employees and employers working with customers and visitors across the tourism and service industries. This training programme was developed in conjunction with the Service Industries Training Alliance (SITA). The programme is designed to help New Zealand’s service industries deliver consistent, positive, uniquely New Zealand customer experiences – everywhere, for every customer in New Zealand. Read more
Map of Provision – Aviation
In 2010 ATTTO began working with the aviation sector to identify the ongoing training needs for aviation in New Zealand. This project will help guide the funding allocated to aviation and the ongoing development and management of qualifications and training for this sector. Read more
