Apprenticeships & Work Experience
If you are interested in getting paid, gaining qualifications and experiencing the world of work, a Modern Apprenticeship could be just what you're after.
If you’re aged 16 - 21, you could be getting practical industry experience on the job, while receiving a wage or salary.
The Modern Apprenticeship programme is designed to:
- increase the number of young people in apprenticeships
- increase the range of industries and occupations that offer apprenticeships
- ensure that apprenticeships will lead to the achievement of National Certificates
ATTTO’s role in the programme
We are the Modern Apprenticeship Coordinator for Aeronautical Engineering and Tourism. Our job is to make it as easy as possible for apprentices and employers.
We support both the workplace and the apprentice by working with the employer to develop personal training plans for the apprentice. We regularly review an apprentice’s progress and make quarterly visits to check that things are going well.
We offer training resources to support the apprentice during their apprenticeship.
Modern Apprentice entitlements
We also support workplaces by paying them a Modern Apprentice entitlement of $1125 (inc GST) per Modern Apprentice per year. Payment is conditional on:
- Modern Apprentices completing the credits required according to their training plan
- ATTTO receiving copies of invoices for any training costs incurred by the workplace.
