Experienced Consultant Award
The Experienced Consultant Award has been designed to enable you to gain the New Zealand Certificate in Travel (Level 4) through recognition of your years of travel industry experience and TAANZ membership. Once your evidence has been submitted and accepted by ServiceIQ you will gain the New Zealand Certificate in Travel (Level 4).
If you have been a Travel Consultant for a minimum of 5 years then this programme is for you.
- A minimum of five years travel consultancy industry experience.
- Must currently be employed within the travel industry.
- The agency you work for must be a member of TAANZ.
TAANZ has been working to increase the profile of the industry and to promote the advantages and benefits of using a TAANZ Bonded Agent. One of the benefits of using a TAANZ Bonded Agent is the experience representative of the qualification you offer to the customer.
How do you apply?
The Customer Service Centre ensures you have met the criteria eligibility of having 5+ years of travel consultancy industry experience.
Having met the criteria a ServiceIQ Training Advisor will contact your employer, or the TAANZ agent to whom you contract approved travel broker services to become a Registered Training Workplace and send through a Training Agreement for you and your employer/contracting agent to sign. We will invoice for the $180.00 plus GST fee.
We will then provide you with the Workplace Evidence Record (WER) to complete and submit along with your collection of evidence.
The structure of the ServiceIQ Experienced Consultant Award programme of industry training leading to the New Zealand Certificate in Travel (Level 4) is as follows:
Graduate Profile Outcomes
There are four Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs) recognising the operational skills and knowledge of the travel industry. It therefore applies to all travel consultants and all the evidence requirements against the mandatory unit standards must be submitted and met.
The Graduate Profile Outcomes are as follows:
GPO 1 - Deliver customer service, product advice, and sales, applying accurate communication, literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills, to grow and maintain excellent customer relationships. (20 credits)
GPO 2 - Apply workplace practices required of the travel industry including: self-management, teamwork, and compliance with relevant Acts and legislation. (10 credits)
GPO 3 - Apply detailed knowledge of specific regions, and a broad operational knowledge of world geography in terms of characteristics relevant to customer’s needs. (15 credits)
GPO 4 - Identify and utilise travel business operational systems and processes that enable the delivery of a quality customer experience and contribute to overall business effectiveness. (15 credits)
Each Graduate Profile Outcome specifies the minimum number of credits required.
Once your evidence has been submitted to ServiceIQ, we will check that we have everything and that you have met the criteria and, if successful, you gain the New Zealand Certificate in Travel - Level 4.
Programme Duration: Approximately four to six months.
