National Certificate in Aviation (Introductory) (Level 2)
This qualification has been designed for secondary school students. It is designed to provide an overview of the aviation industry and its career paths.
The compulsory section of the qualification incorporates unit standards that cover general knowledge and possible career paths within the aviation industry, and this section is designed for delivery in secondary schools.
The elective section enables students interested in pursuing a particular career path to obtain unit standards at level 2 or above, in any of the following sectors: Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Storekeeping, Aircraft Mechanical Maintenance, Avionic Maintenance, Aircraft Servicing, Air Traffic Services, Aircraft Operation, Airport Operations, Flight Attendants, Flight Catering and International Air Express. This elective also allows for the selection of a range of generic skills that are required in a variety of employment contexts.
