Notice: Each time a CAT is used it should be downloaded and printed out from this website

ATTTO reviews a large number Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) and updates them regularly. These are progressively announced on this page.

As CATs are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis, downloading and printing a CAT each time it is required ensures that you are using the most up to date one.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between a 'version' and an 'edition'?

When changes are made to a unit standard, it gets an updated version number. A new CAT is then written against the US.

When changes are made to an existing ATTTO Assessment (to reflect industry changes or to update a map, for example), the edition number of the Assessment is changed. This is recorded in the footer of the document. For example the latest CAT for US24731 is Edition 2.

Please ensure you always download and use the latest edition Assessment, which is always the edition available on this site.

Why does a Workplace Assessment Task (WAT) replace an Evidence Guide (EG)?

A. In a workplace setting, the responsibility of producing and collecting acceptable evidence of skills and knowledge lies with the trainee, not the assessor or the employee.

It is essential that the trainee clearly understands what is acceptable as evidence - often it needs to be quite specific and reasonably in depth to be accepted by an assessor as reasonable evidence.

To help trainees produce acceptable evidence, Workplace Assessment Tasks have been developed for some Unit Standards. WATs provide trainees with a more detailed guide to what they should be collecting, by working through particular tasks that can then be used as acceptable evidence later on.
