Preparing for Assessments
Information for students on planning for assessments
Preparing for an assessment
Workplace training allows you to train toward national qualifications while continuing to work. From time to time you’ll be assessed in your workplace.
When preparing for an assessment you’ll need to check that you’ve covered the following points.
The Trainee Evidence Guide
Read the current Trainee Evidence Guide and make sure you understand exactly what you are required to do, whether it is a written or oral response or operating equipment.
Gathering supporting evidence
Once you have read the Guide, you’ll need to gather supporting evidence to help answer the questions.
Supporting evidence could include things like written work, log books, verbal explanations or computer evidence.
For more information talk to your training adviser, or contact us.
Filling in the Guide
If you are filling in the Training Evidence Guide and need more room, you can add an extra page.
Include the element and performance criteria number before your answer as this will make it easier for the assessor to mark it.
When you complete a physical task, write down a few details to refer to when your assessor asks you about it.
Getting assessed
When you have finished, contact us so we can double check that all tasks have been completed to our standards. We will then book a date and time for an ATTTO assessor to visit you.
